JANUARY IS OVER!
Just like that, we are one month into the new year, starting on second month. I realized that I now have 11 months to achieve the goals that I had for this year. It is time to be serious, time to get to work, time to get our plans into action. Otherwise towards the end of the year, I will be among those who say that, resolutions do not work, there is no point to having resolutions, you know the usual statements that we make, when we want to console ourselves when we want to justify the fact that we are not on track to meeting your goals. So it got me thinking, what are those things that hinder us or prevent us from achieving our set goals?
1. YOU FORGOT WHY YOU SET YOUR GOALS:
What made you decide upon those goals that you set? What was the driving force that made you come up with your goals. As we approach towards the end of the year, we get to that point of reflection when we feel that we have not made any major changes in life, not achieved any major milestones through out the year. So we decided to seat down and write down things you want to achieve that you feel you need to accomplish within the next year. After a while though, when we get caught up in the hustle and bustle of life, we forget that emotion, that disappointment, that made us sit down and realize that we need to make some changes in our lives in order for us to be where we want to be in life, when we loose that emotion, that reason, we do not put in as much energy in achieving our goals.
2. THE GOALS WE SET WERE TOO AMBITIOUS
I know we all want to achieve our dreams, we want big things in our lives. It is for this reason we find that most of the time we set huge goals, big goals for our live, and these sometimes can be out of reach for us. Remember, Rome was not built in a day, so whatever goal you have, break it down to smaller achievable goals. Take baby steps in your quest to be as great as you can be. When you have goals that are too big, you get discouraged so fast, because it seems impossible to achieve that goal. Just keep it simple, break it down to smaller goals and one by one, step by step, you will get there.
3. YOU HAVE NOT TAKEN ANY ACTION TO ACHIEVE YOUR GOALS
Most of the time, this is the number one reason why we do not get where we want to be. We have good plans, we have good ideas, but do not implement them, do not put them into action and that hinders us from achieving anything. The only way to achieve your dreams, is to wake up. Put your dreams into action, and there will be a huge change in your life.

While the year is still very young, and there is still plenty of time to achieve your plans, achieve your goals, its imperative that you sit, and analyze yourself, and your goals; and see what you need to change in order for you to achieve what you want to achieve.
