LIFE IS ONE BIG PUBLIC RELATIONS GIG

The thing about growing up is that everyday you seem to realize that what your parents taught you to be, what they made you aspire to be, what they taught you to be moral or ethical, ALL seem to be either far from the truth or you really have to bend a little here and there, bang a little here and there to make it all fit to the realities of this world.

There are various things that we were taught such as always tell the truth, always work hard towards your goals and you will always achieve, be real and open the world really needs a real person. The other day, I had an argument with a colleague of mine about whether the world actually appreciates a person who is real and truthful.

My take on this is NO, A BIG FAT NO! In my opinion, I think we should teach our kids how to be the best at P.R-Public Relations. Life is all about P.R. This to me entails projecting what you want people to know, see or hear about you, and projecting only that which benefits you either monetarily, or or helps you get into a social circle, helps you get a promotion, helps you get your loved one etc

Life teaches you sets of behaviors; how you behave when you are with your parents is definately not the same way you behave with your friends, or workmates or bosses or business partners. In all social settings that we get into, its a PR gig, and as long as we want to be part of that social setting and to be successful in it….PR PR PR. Nothing more

DOES THIS MAKE US FAKE? ARE WE REAL WITH THE PEOPLE WE DEAL WITH? JUST THINK IF ONE DAY WE DECIDED TO DROP OUR PR AND JUST LET IT ALL GO!
